Long-Distance Moving from Omaha | Tetris Moving

One Omaha crew, on our own US DOT and MC authority, packs the home, drives the whole route, and unloads at the destination

People ask about distance first on a long move, yet distance is seldom the troublemaker. The real risks are how many hands end up on your belongings and whether one outfit answers for the load from the first carton to the last. Hire a national carrier and you forfeit both: the shipment goes onto a shared trailer, is pulled apart at a terminal, and gets rearranged around whatever each driver hauls next. That is not how we do it. The Tetris Moving crew that wraps and loads your home is the crew that drives the route and walks it back inside at the destination. No one bids on your goods, nothing is mixed with a stranger’s furniture, and the load stays alone on our truck until it is standing in your new rooms.

The licenses this work calls for are held in our own name. Operating authority covers Nebraska and western Iowa, our own US DOT and MC numbers carry the interstate leg, and $1M in cargo coverage backs every shipment from the old threshold to the room it ends up in. The estimate joins a base rate for your home’s size to the distance you are traveling, and it is locked to your exact route before any loading starts. All the way down the road the driver keeps a line open, so one text shows where your things are and roughly when to expect them. We do not reweigh at a truck stop, and no fresh charge surfaces once the truck is rolling.

A turning point usually sits behind these moves, a new role, a family with no more rooms to spare, the tug of a hometown: a transfer out of state at Union Pacific or Berkshire Hathaway, a Gretna two-story headed south, an Offutt family reassigned past the metro, a new Creighton graduate following work to another city. Set flat to the trip, a studio runs roughly $380 to $620, a two-bedroom roughly $1,050 to $1,800, and a four-bedroom from $2,920 to $4,600, the road miles built in already. Since the crew loads dense and pulls more onto each truck, plenty of long runs fit in one load, and that keeps the rate down. At the other end they place each piece, rebuild the beds, and set cartons in the rooms you marked rather than dropping a heap in the entry.

“It was a great service with fairly clear pricing. The only reason I gave a 4 was because we pay before they actually finish the delivery. So I felt the guys did a less after payment with all boxes left in the garage instead of moving them up to the rooms upstairs. They did break one item so I am hoping the insurance works…”

“The movers came to my house and packed up. Brett and the two guys were great to work with. When my stuff was ready to be delivered the driver was very friendly and considerate. The two men from the local company that unloaded went above and beyond to help me get my refrigerator in the house. I am very grateful for their service and efforts. I would recommend them for a move.”

Service FAQ

Do you do the move yourselves, or pass it along?

The trip is ours the whole way, pickup to delivery, on our own US DOT and MC authority. Truck and crew both belong to us start to finish. We do not put your shipment out for bid, do not slide it onto a shared trailer, and do not turn it over to another company somewhere down the highway.

Could my things get shifted to another truck along the way?

No. What we seal up here is exactly what opens at the destination, on its own, with no terminal swap in between. One driver runs the route end to end, so your belongings never wait in a strange warehouse or pass to unknown hands. It stays your load, on our truck, the entire distance.

How do you price a long move?

We join a base rate for the home's size to the highway distance, then lock it to your route. A studio comes to $380-$620 and a four-bedroom to $2,920-$4,600, miles folded in. Extras, stairs, a long carry, a shuttle at one end, are named ahead, so nothing is reweighed and nothing turns up afterward.

What if the new place is not ready when you get there?

It comes up often, and we plan for it. We keep your things in our climate-controlled space until the closing or the lease comes through, then deliver on a date you set, on our truck with the same crew. That is one booking rather than juggling a mover and a separate warehouse on your own.

Can I check in while my things are on the road?

Certainly. The driver is a call away the entire trip, so a quick message gives you a rough fix on where the load sits and when it should land. No dispatcher stands between you and your own furniture, which is the whole reason we keep one crew on the job from loading to delivery.
