Tetris Moving

An Omaha moving company that takes on houses, apartments, and offices all over Nebraska and western Iowa, with a crew that loads your truck like a puzzle so the whole place fits in fewer trips. The same trained team stays with your move across the Omaha metro from the first box to the last, on one flat-rate price put in writing before move day.

  • A flat-rate price put in writing ahead of move day, so a tight Dundee stairwell, a long carry, or an iced-over driveway never turns into a surprise on a meter
  • A licensed mover (US DOT and MC authority, registered in NE and IA) for local and out-of-state hauls, and $1M cargo coverage on every move
  • Every job runs on our own trucks with our own trained, W-2 crew who load like a puzzle. We never subcontract your move or hand it off to a stranger.

Why Omaha Hands Us The Move

What Sets Our Crew Apart

A Flat Rate On Paper

We settle the flat-rate figure and put it in writing well before move day. Front stoops, a long carry, or a downtown high-rise COI all get quoted up front, never tacked on after the truck is loaded.

Insured To $1M

A licensed Nebraska and Iowa mover carrying US DOT and MC authority for interstate jobs, and backed by $1 million in cargo coverage on every move.

One Crew, Start To Finish

One trained, background-checked W-2 crew handles the load and the unload on our own trucks. Day labor never touches your boxes, and the same hands that pack the truck like a puzzle are the ones that set everything down in your new place.

We Know Omaha’s Tight Streets

Dundee side streets with no driveway, narrow 1920s Tudor staircases, and Old Market freight elevators throw an out-of-town crew. We map the carry and the turns around your building first, so a tight loft doorway or a downtown one-way never turns the move into a risk.

Winter-Ready Pads & Care

When a Plains blizzard or an ice storm blows in, our crew clears and salts the walk, runs floor protection over snow and grit, and shrink-wraps everything against the wind and cold, so a sub-zero snap or a slushy walkway never reaches your furniture. You get an arrival window plus a call when the truck leaves the yard.

A Name Omaha Trusts

Five-star ratings from households, renters, and offices clear across the metro, earned with careful hands, a straight flat rate, and a move day that stays calm from the first box to the last.

Four Simple Steps

From Quote To New Place

Send Your Details

Drop us both ZIPs, your target date, the size of the job, and the stairs at each end. Your flat-rate price lands back, usually inside the hour.

Approve The Rate

Give the flat rate a yes and your date is locked in. Most Omaha moves need no deposit to hold the slot, so booking early costs you nothing.

We Pad, Wrap & Load

The crew shows up on schedule, pads the furniture, wraps the fragile pieces, straps everything down on dollies, and loads the truck like a puzzle, with the carry and the cleared, salted path already mapped out.

The Final Stretch

The same crew carries it all in, rebuilds the furniture, and sets each piece down exactly where you want it. The stairs, the tight Old Market turns, and the high-rise COI are ours to figure out, not yours.

Tetris Moving Reviews

Families, renters, and businesses right across the Omaha metro hand us their move every week. Here is what they told us once the truck pulled away.

★★★★

“It was a great service with fairly clear pricing. The only reason I gave a 4 was because we pay before they actually finish the delivery. So I felt the guys did a less after payment with all boxes left in the garage instead of moving them up to the rooms upstairs. They did break one item so I am hoping the insurance works…”

“The movers came to my house and packed up. Brett and the two guys were great to work with. When my stuff was ready to be delivered the driver was very friendly and considerate. The two men from the local company that unloaded went above and beyond to help me get my refrigerator in the house. I am very grateful for their service and efforts. I would recommend them for a move.”

“The process up to and including packing and loading was great. The unloading crew, not so much. If our son wasn’t here to watch and help the two movers, there would have been injuries to the worker and damage to the furniture. As it was, only two items got damaged in the move.”

Moving Questions

What does a move cost in Omaha?
There are two ways to price it, and Megan will walk you through both. Hourly is $120 for a two-mover crew and truck, $160 for three, and $210 for four, with no padded drive-time tacked on. When the job is known up front we lock one flat rate by home size instead — a studio runs about $380 to $620, a one-bedroom $620 to $1,020, a two-bedroom $1,020 to $1,720, a three-bedroom $1,720 to $2,920, and a four-bedroom $2,920 to $4,600. Tell us the pickup, the drop-off, the stairs or elevators on each end, and how the access looks, and we hand you a written figure — the number we quote anywhere in the Omaha metro is the number you pay on move day.
Is Tetris Moving licensed and insured?
Yes. We carry US DOT and MC authority for moves that cross state lines and are registered to run in Nebraska and Iowa, so a local job here in Omaha and a haul out to Des Moines both ride on the same proper paperwork. Every move is backed by $1 million in cargo coverage, and we send our credentials or a Certificate of Insurance straight to a downtown high-rise, an Aksarben office tower, or any building or HOA that needs one on file before the date.
What does your full-service move actually cover?
It covers the entire job, not just the ride in the truck. The crew pads and shrink-wraps your furniture, breaks down bed frames and tables, and lays down floor and doorway protection before a single item moves. Want it handled top to bottom? We bring the boxes, paper, and tape and pack the house for you, full or partial. Local or long-distance, a home or an office, with packing or storage on either end — one Omaha crew carries the whole thing, pianos and gun safes included, so you are never chasing three different vendors on move day.
How far out should I book the crew?
Saturdays and the last week of the month fill up first, so give us two or three weeks of lead time for those, and a bit more when an Old Market loft or a downtown tower locks down a freight-elevator window. A weekday or a mid-month date will often open up on just a few days’ notice, and when a truck is sitting free we are happy to grab last-minute or same-day work. Call (888) 711-4778 and we will tell you straight what is still on the board.
Do you take a deposit up front?
Most local Omaha moves take nothing down — a quick confirmation call the day before is all we need. Long-haul interstate jobs and the busiest Saturday dates hold the slot with a small refundable deposit, and every dollar of it comes right off your final balance.
Where does your crew move?
Omaha NE and across the metro — Dundee, Benson, Midtown, Aksarben, Elkhorn, Gretna, Millard, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Ralston, Bennington, and across the river into Council Bluffs. We run I-80, I-680, I-29, and the West Dodge corridor every day, handling everything from a Dundee Tudor walk-up to a new build out in Elkhorn, and we cross into Iowa and head out across the Plains on a regular basis.
Do you handle packing, or just the loading?
Either way, your call. A lot of folks pack their own boxes and just want the muscle and the truck, and that works fine — we roll up, load, drive, and unload. Would you rather hand off the whole thing? We bring the boxes, paper, and tape and do a full or partial pack: kitchens, closets, artwork, and the fragile pieces that eat up the most time. Just tell us which way you are leaning when you book, and we size the crew and the supplies to fit.
Can you move just a few heavy items and leave the rest to us?
Of course — it is one of our most common calls. Plenty of customers book us for the big, awkward pieces only — a sectional, an armoire, a treadmill, a piano, a gun safe — and take care of the boxes on their own. We arrive, pad and wrap each item, carry it through the stairs or the elevator, and set it back down right where you want it at the far end. Your written quote covers exactly what you asked for and not one thing more.
Do stairs, a long carry, or parking change the price?
They can, and you will hear about it before move day, not at the curb. A long haul from the truck, a tight hallway, or a flight or two of stairs in a Field Club walk-up adds time on an hourly job or a set surcharge on a flat-rate one, and we spell it out in the written quote. When parking is tight on an Old Market block we line up the on-street spaces with the city ahead of time so the truck parks at your door, not down the street; we go over all of it with you beforehand so nothing catches you off guard on the day.
How do you handle a historic home, walk-up, or high-rise building?
Every one gets its own plan. For an old Dundee Tudor or a Benson walk-up we measure the stoop, the turns, and the tight doorways ahead of time and bring the boards and straps to take a narrow century-old staircase without scuffing a wall. For a downtown high-rise or an Old Market brick loft we call building management before the date, book the freight elevator and the loading window, and send over the Certificate of Insurance the building keeps on file. Either way we lock down the tight street parking in advance so the carry stays short.
Do you offer storage if my dates do not line up?
We do. When the new place is not ready yet, your things go into a clean, secured warehouse — padded, inventoried, and waiting — and our crew brings them back out the day you say go. It comes up all the time when a house sells or a lease runs out before the next place is open. Tell us roughly how long you will need it when you book, and we price the storage and the redelivery up front, so nothing surprises you on the back end. Month-to-month runs about $90 to $240.
What heavy specialty pieces do you move?
Because we run the whole move ourselves, the same crew, boards, and dollies take pianos, gun safes and fireproof safes, antique armoires and marble-top pieces, slate pool tables, big statuary, and oversized gym equipment right alongside the rest of the house. If it is heavy, awkward, and easy to damage, it is squarely in our lane — flag it when you book so the right gear and the right number of movers roll up ready, stairs and dollies and all.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance for my building?
Yes, and we cut them constantly for the downtown Omaha high-rises, the condo associations around Midtown and Aksarben, and the office towers along the Dodge Street corridor. Send over whatever your building management or HOA requires when you book — the coverage limits and the named parties — and we list them on the certificate well before move day, at no charge.
Do you do commercial and office moves?
We do. Offices, retail, and small-business relocations around Omaha and the metro run on the same trained crew, just scheduled around your business — evenings and weekends so you do not lose a workday. We pad and wrap desks and conference furniture, move and reconnect what we can, label and inventory by room or department, and coordinate the elevator and dock access at both buildings so your team walks in Monday and gets right back to it.
Do you move pianos and gun safes as part of a full move?
Yes. A piano or a gun safe folds right into the rest of the job — there is no separate specialty outfit to schedule. We bring the boards, dollies, and straps, map out the stairs and doorways, and the very same crew loading the house handles the heavy piece. Give us the make and a rough weight when you book so we send the right number of movers and the right gear, and it travels the same careful way as everything else on the truck.
How does a long-distance move out of Omaha work?
We run it on our own US DOT and MC authority with a binding written quote — not a number that swells once the truck reaches the door. The same crew that loads your home in Omaha rides with it the whole way, door to door — a lot of these moves follow a family heading out to Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, or the Twin Cities. The truck is GPS-tracked the entire route, and we never hand your belongings off to a broker, a load board, or a warehouse trailer swap.
Do you move offices, schools, and venues?
Yes. We take on offices, churches, event halls, schools, and small businesses across Omaha and the metro, and we book evenings or weekends so a workday, a class, or a service never gets disrupted. Furniture rides padded and strapped, the elevator and dock access are reserved ahead of time, and the same crew places everything exactly where you want it so your people can get straight back to work.
How can I pay for the move?
Major credit and debit cards and bank transfers all work, and whoever is setting up the move — a landlord, an employer, or a family member two states away — can settle the bill from afar. You pay once the job is done, after everything is set in place and you have walked it over with the crew chief. The total matches the figure on your written quote, so nothing is waiting to surprise you at the curb.
What if I have to cancel or move my date?
Give us 48 hours and any deposit comes back in full. Plans move around — a closing slips, a lease date shifts, a downtown building reshuffles its elevator schedule — and we are not about to penalize you for it. The sooner you call, the easier it is for us to open that slot up for the next family.
Should I tip the movers?
Never required — your quote already covers the whole job. That said, the crew earns it hauling a sofa down the stairs of a Benson walk-up or easing it through a tight Dundee doorway, and a tip is always appreciated. Most customers land somewhere around 10–20% of the move split across the crew, or a flat amount per mover. Entirely your call.
